Charybdis natator, the ridged swimming crab, is a swimming crab species in the genus Charybdis. Distributed all over Indo-West Pacific regions.
Description
Male grows up to maximum length of 17cm. Body color orange-red overall. Legs are dark and reddish brown colored.[1] Carapace ridged and densely pubescent. Chelipeds covered with large granules and squamiform markings.[2]
Between eyes, there are 8 small rounded lobes. Last pair of legs are paddle-shaped.[3]
